Sea Fortress
Mr. N, Bella and I took a day trip to Suomenlinna (the Finnish fortress) where we enjoyed the beautiful fall nature with its vibrant colours. We walked around the market square and went to its cafe before hopping on the Suomenlinna boat. In 1748 this belonged to the Swedish empire that was utilized against Russian attack. At the time, Suomenlinna was called Sveaborg- meaning "Swedish fortress", but was surrendered to the Russians after their attack in 1808 changing its name to Viapori. When Finland gained its Independence in 1917, this became a part of Finland when its name in 1918 changed to Suomenlinna. Here are some photos of the day!
