Mid summer preparation! Leaving tmr...

shirt- Henry Lloyd, dress- gant, short jumpsuit- H&M
So its Midsummer in a couple of days and we are leaving to our country house tomorrow. Its going to be such a great trip, surrounded with friends, family and the blissful nature... and don't forget the chilled white wine and delishious summery foods! Last year I was crowned a "Juhannus Neito" (mid-summer maiden) at a local event that takes place every year where I was given a wreath that gets passed on during mid-summer. This year I have to make one and wear it until the new maiden recieves it... Its probably going to look hailarious because the last time I made one, was when I was a little girl! Oh dear! At least Ive packed already, the weather is unpredictable so my packings range from a bikini and summer dresses to gloves and a warm winter hat! I guess my colour range is blue, white and pink despite the weather!

Before we leave, I have to mention about the most comfortable shoes a women can own! Yesterday I bought ballerina's from stylesnob and heals le <3 babe. They are so comfortable that it is difficult to wear any other shoes after these! I love them becuase they are so feminine that put me in a girly mood. So, I also bought other cute accessories...

Essential tips for Midsummer:
  • sauna
  • rowing
  • cooking delishious food
  • vodka snaps,rosé & white wine
  • good music
  • bonfire (kokko) burning
  • good company

Food-wise I love a fish based table such as roe, Salmon (gravlax, smoked, sprimps, hearing, new potatos)and fresh salads.
Here is a delicious hearing recipe for a traditional mid-summer evening:
Finely slice:
  • 4 hearing filés
  • 4 boiled and cooled eggs
  • 2 onions
  • 1 summer onion/stalks (kevät sipuli)
  • Dill
  • sour cream/ smetana (about 200g)
  • pepper
  • salt

Basically, slice all the ingrediants into similar sizes and mix well together. However, add the sour cream only a little before serving, otherwise it becomes too watery. Add more dill as garnation. Enjoy with a snaps :)

Sauna, lake swimming, and buddly should also be included in the menu
